ARTIST CONVERSATIONS

Through more than 100 conversations with artists across Canada, one pattern keeps emerging: creative careers rarely stall because of talent. They stall when artists lose clarity about who they're serving, where they fit, and how to build meaningful audience relationships.

TRANSFORMATION

Most Artists Don't Need More Content.
They Need More Clarity.

Many artists know how to create. Fewer know:

Who their audience is | Where they fit in the market | How to communicate their value | How to build a sustainable career

That's where we come in.

Clarity

Who are you?

What is this project really about?
What role do you want music to play in your life?

Audience

Who is most likely to care?

Who are your first 1,000 true fans? How do they discover your music?

Positioning

What makes this project distinct?

Where do you fit within today's music landscape?

Connection

How do we build connection?
Where do audiences gather?
What opportunities fit best?

LEARN FROM THE WORK

For more than seven years we've documented conversations with artists, producers, and creative leaders exploring audience, storytelling, sustainability, and building careers that last.

The Story Behind The Make Studios

For more than a decade, I've worked at the intersection of storytelling, audience engagement, and community building.

Through The Make Studios, I've spent years in conversation with independent artists across Can ada, producing more than 100 artist interviews and documenting the realities of creative careers.

What I've learned is that artists rarely struggle because of talent. They struggle because they're unclear about who they're for, how they fit, and how to build meaningful audience relationships.

Today, I help artists move from idea to audience through strategy, positioning, storytelling, and project leadership.
